MILLENNIUM PARADE
MILLENNIUM PARADE are a creative collective led by Tokyo-based producer/songwriter Daiki Tsuneta, who also fronts one of Japan’s biggest bands King Gnu.
The band are a vibrant group of artists from a variety of creative fields including music, film direction, visual effects, design and illustration.
Their music is electronic leaning, featuring synths, pop inspired melodies and chaotic beats.The group’s vision strives to present Tokyo’s new values to the rest of the world. Emerging in 2019 with single ‘Veil’, their innovative launch party utilized 3D technology and live shows which rapidly sold out. In 2020, their single ‘Fly With Me’ was the main theme song for Japanese animation ‘Ghost In The Shell’ which was soon remixed by acclaimed DJ & producer Steve Aoki. MILLENNIUM PARADE’s single ‘GOLDENWEEK’, marks the beginning of a new era for the band and is featured as the campaign anthem for the Playstation PULSE Elite campaign.
The track offers a glimpse into the world of MILLENNIUM PARADE; listeners are treated to a captivating glimpse of the visionary landscape meticulously crafted by the collective. The latest chapter in the MILLENNIUM PARADE story, sees Daiki Tsuneta collaborating closely with Art Director Cota Mori and Creative Director Shu Sasaki, Together, they embark on a journey to reimagine their vibrant cityscape both visually and sonically. The next series of works play out in Kong Tong Tokyo, an imagined version of Japan’s capital set in the future, which aims to redefine what the metropolis can be creatively.
This attention to detail when it comes to every aspect of the artistic process defines the new era of MILLENNIUM PARADE. With Kong Tong Tokyo, the crew isn’t just creating genre-bending experimental music coupled with attention- demanding CG visuals. Rather, MILLENNIUM PARADE is creating a whole artistic world with interlocking storylines, mapped-out geography, eventual live shows utilizing cutting edge technology to bring Kong Tong Tokyo to the stage, and much more.
